Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment Manager

Reports Functionally: General Manager
Department: Manufacturing

Job Purpose

The QHSE Manager is a senior member of the leadership team responsible for managing and improving the Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental systems and culture across the organization. This role ensures compliance with international standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies while supporting continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and safety performance. The QHSE Manager leads cross-functional initiatives, audits, training, and investigations to promote a strong and proactive QHSE culture. This role also manages the Quality Department, overseeing all quality control, quality assurance, and compliance functions for the manufacturing and servicing of drilling tools.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Provide advice, guidance, and support on company policies and implementation.
  • Investigate accidents/near misses, identify root causes, and recommend improvements.
  • Review QHSE system, conduct gap analysis against ISO 45001 and 14001, and maintain procedures.
  • Conduct audits, observation monitoring, risk assessments, and investigations.
  • Ensure adherence to local/country legislation.
  • Act as liaison with regulatory agencies, clients, auditors, and contractors.
  • Provide coaching, training, and support across departments.
  • Create annual QHSE goals and monthly topics, maintain notice boards.
  • Serve as focal point for customer audits, due diligence, and questionnaires.
  • Support continual improvement, process efficiencies, and cost savings.
  • Lead implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the QHSE Management Systems
  • Perform tasks with honesty, integrity, and customer focus.
  • Fully cooperate with departments to maintain workflow
  • Manage the Quality Department including inspectors, technicians, and related staff, ensuring quality standards are met in manufacturing and servicing drilling tools.
  • Oversee non-conformance management, corrective and preventive action systems, and ensure effective root cause analysis within the Quality Department.
Knowledge & Experience Required
  • General product technical knowledge
  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience
  • Knowledge of HSE Management Systems, ISO 18001, 45001, and 14001
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a QHSE role
  • Recognized Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Process development, RCA, non-conformance, auditing, and improvement experience
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and inclusiveness
  • Experience managing a quality department in a manufacturing and/or service environment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
