Manulife Bank is seeking a Quality Engineer focused on automation to help mature our test framework for the web and API layers. You’ll collaborate with software engineers, product teams and business partners to embed quality from the start and expand automated coverage across the frontend TypeScript/JavaScript and backend-for-frontend.
This role supports shift-left quality, uses AI tools to accelerate test authoring, participates in CI/CD gating, and ensures accessibility and bilingual coverage.
Join our Manulife Bank technology team and help shape the future of digital banking quality!
At Manulife Bank, we’re committed to delivering secure, reliable, and exceptional banking experiences that help Canadians achieve their financial goals. As part of our growing Technology team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality, performance, reliability, and accessibility of the digital solutions our customers depend on every day.
We’re seeking a Quality Engineer whose primary contribution is automation — someone who defaults to code first and reaches for manual or exploratory testing only where automation isn’t the right tool. We practice shift-left quality engineering: quality is a shared responsibility, not a gate. You’ll work closely with software engineers, product teams, and business partners to build quality in from the start.
You’ll be working on Manulife Bank’s online banking web product — a customer-facing platform that Canadians use to manage their finances every day. The automation framework is being established. Your role is to help it mature: expanding coverage, improving reliability, and shaping how it evolves over time.
The role being advertised is an existing vacancy.
