Quality Engineer - APQP Lead & Process Validation

Job summary

The Quality Engineer at Kumi Canada Corporation will design and develop quality standards and validation methods for manufacturing processes, acting as the technical lead and customer contact on new model development teams.

Responsibilities include APQP documentation, process standards, supplier quality activities, and in-process checks for mass production; the role is full-time, replacement, based in Bradford, ON, with a start date of Oct 1, 2026.

Qualifications

• College engineering diploma, university engineering degree, or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of experience with an interest in the manufacturing/automotive industries, or College/University completion with co-op experience.
• Previous experience or familiarity with technical project work.
• Knowledge of injection molding and assembly processes is an asset.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
• Familiarity with 2D and 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Catia).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Develop APQP documentation (Process Flow, Control Plan, PFMEA).
• Develop initial new model and mass-production operation standards.
• Develop Quality requirements for new process equipment and check fixtures.
• Develop and administer new model training.
• Perform Supplier quality functions (audit visits, PPAP approval, etc.).
• Develop in-process / SPC checks for mass-production based on customer requirements.
• Act as technical lead for quality concern investigations.
• Act as a technical point of contact for the customer as necessary.
