Job summary

A well-established Toronto fashion company is seeking a Quality Control Manager responsible for ensuring the quality of all produced garments. The ideal candidate will have tailoring experience and strong knowledge of garment construction. You'll work closely with production staff to develop and implement quality assurance processes. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in French/English, are essential. This position offers an engaging environment to contribute to product quality improvements.

Qualifications

  • Experience in tailoring men's or ladies apparel.
  • Strong understanding of fabric and garment sizing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Develop methods to ensure garment quality.
  • Train staff in quality garment processes.
  • Liaise with Production Manager on quality improvements.

Job description

Our client is a well-established TorontoFashion company.

The Quality Control Manager is responsible to ensure the quality of all garments produced

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Proactively develop methods to ensure quality of garment.
  • Problem solve to ensure quality of garment.
  • Ensure leaders, supervisors and staff are properly trained in the quality process of garments.
  • Review processes to achieve a quality garment while maintaining reasonable cost parameters.
  • Liaise with Production Manager regarding new initiatives, methods, and improvements.
  • Ensure that proper processes are followed in the construction of the garment.
  • Manage special customer needs to ensure that the garment matches all parameters within scope of the customer’s orders while conforming to factory processes.
  • Communicate with design to implement production pattern changes as needed.
  • Offer advice when a change request does not meet factory parameters.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the job :

  • Tailoring experience required with men’s or ladies apparel.
  • Excellent knowledge of garment construction, including fabric, pattern knowledge, garment sizing and grade rules.
  • College or university level degree in related program or relevant similar experience.
  • Factory experience a must.
  • Must be confident in communicating (written and verbal in French / English) and interacting with all levels, with the ability to coach, develop relationships and foster cooperation.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work independently.
  • Advanced judgement and decision making skills – considering the relative costs and benefits to potential actions.
  • Flexible to meet constantly changing demands of the workplace.
  • Basic knowledge in Windows programs including : Excel, Outlook and Word.

Working knowledge of AS400 is an asset.
