Position Summary

The Quality Control Manager will lead the plant’s quality program, ensuring all window products meet or exceed Gentek’s manufacturing standards and customer expectations.

This role is hands-on, working directly on the production floor and in collaboration with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to maintain consistent quality and drive continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of window manufacturing processes, material flow, testing standards, and root cause analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the plant’s quality control systems and testing procedures for windows and components.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to Gentek product specifications , drawings, and production standards.
  • Supervise the QC inspection team , providing daily direction, training, and performance feedback.
  • Monitor and report on quality KPIs , including first-pass yield, rework rates, warranty data, and customer complaints.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective / preventive actions (CAPA) on production issues.
  • Partner with Engineering and Production to validate process changes and new product introductions.
  • Conduct regular audits on raw materials, in-process components, and finished goods.
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma tools to reduce waste, improve process capability, and enhance product reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards, safety requirements, and corporate quality policies.
  • Communicate quality performance, trends, and improvement plans to plant leadership.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of quality leadership experience in a manufacturing environment — experience in windows, extrusion, fabrication, or building products strongly preferred.
  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Quality Management, or Industrial Technology (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven ability to lead a quality team in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC) , 5 Whys , FMEA , control plans , and PPAP .
  • Familiarity with vinyl window assembly , glass handling , and hardware installation considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication, data analysis, and documentation skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
