Job summary

Plainsman Mfg. Inc. in Edmonton, AB is seeking a full-time QC Inspector to join our quality control team on the night shift (10 hours, Mon-Thu, 2:30pm–1:00am) at our Edmonton facility.

You will conduct inspections, manage NCR/CAPA documentation, and ensure calibration and MTR traceability. Our locally-owned manufacturing company focuses on oilfield production and distribution. Qualifications

• QC training or relevant QC experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in Oil & Gas downhole production tools is an asset.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Experience with root-cause analysis methodologies (5 Whys, DMAIC).
• Intermediate ERP knowledge for inventory, work orders and process efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of orders to ensure adherence to Plainsman Mfg. Inc. quality standards.
• Handle non-conformance reports (NCR), corrective action and preventive action (CAPA) documentation.
• Scan material test reports (MTRs) for traceability verification.
• Monitor and control calibration for all measurement devices and ensure proper calibration is maintained.
• Perform and document in-house testing.
• Apply lean principles to enhance quality and minimize waste in the manufacturing process.
• Adhere to the Quality Management program and promote a culture of quality.
• Comply with the Safety program to ensure a safe working environment.

Skills And Experience Requirements

• QC training or relevant QC experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in Oil & Gas related downhole production and completion tools is an asset.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in recordkeeping and management to maintain accurate and organized documentation.
• Experience in troubleshooting and applying corrective actions using methodologies such as 5 Whys, root cause analysis, DMAIC, etc.
• Knowledge of quality control principles, with an emphasis on quality at the source.
• Intermediate proficiency in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) functions to manage inventory, work orders and facilitate efficient processes.
