BioVectra Inc. in Windsor, Nova Scotia, is hiring a Quality Control Chemist for full-time permanent employment. The role involves performing analyses using HPLC, GC, UV-VIS, PCR and Plate reader, and maintaining accurate records of all lab activities.

The candidate will support method validation, write SOPs, and handle sample tracking and COA documentation. The position operates on 12-hour shifts (long/short weeks) with day/night rotations.

Formación

• Diploma from a recognized Chemical Technology program.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline preferred.
• Technical proficiency with GC, HPLC, UV-VIS, PCR, Plate reader preferred.
• Knowledge of cGMP guidelines an asset.

Responsabilidades

• Perform analyses using instrumental techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV-VIS, PCR, ELISA (Plate assays).
• Maintain accurate, real-time records of all laboratory activities.
• Perform required calculations by hand or with spreadsheets or validated systems.
• Calibrate and maintain analytical instruments and document activities.
• Complete paperwork/data entry for release of materials and COAs.
• Ensure proper tracking and logging of samples.
• Identify results out of specification and alert supervisor.
• Support analytical method validation/verification.
• Draft SOPs and sampling handling procedures.

This is a full-time permanent position located in Windsor, Nova Scotia.This position works 12-hour shifts (long week/short week) rotating between days and nights.The candidate will be responsible for:Performing analyses using instrumental techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV-VIS, PCR, Electrophoretic assays, ELISA (Plate assays).Maintaining accurate, real-time records of all laboratory activities.Performing required calculations, by hand or with use of spreadsheets or validated computer systems.Performing routine maintenance and calibration of analytical instruments and documenting these activities.Completing paperwork/data entry for the release of materials, including status labels and certificates of analysis.Ensuring appropriate tracking and logging of samples.Identifying test results which are out of specification and alerting a manager or supervisor when this occurs.Supporting analytical method validation/verification.Technical writing of SOPs including testing procedures and sampling handling instructions.Additional duties assigned, based on business needs and the department supervisor’s request.QualificationsThe successful candidate for this position should have:Diploma from a recognized Chemical Technology program.Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline preferred.Technical proficiency with laboratory instrumentation such as GC, HPLC, UV-VIS, PCR, Plate reader preferred.Knowledge of cGMP guidelines an asset.Additional DetailsThis job has a full time weekly schedule.The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $49,848.00 - $77,888.00/yr CAD plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
