Job summary

A global testing and certification leader is seeking a Quality Control Analyst Level 2 for an 18-month contract in Mississauga. The role involves performing tests, documenting results, and ensuring compliance with SOPs and guidelines. Ideal candidates will have a B.Sc. in Chemistry or a relevant field, over 3 years of experience, and proficiency in laboratory instruments such as HPLC and GC. Strong communication and project management skills are essential.

Quality Control Analyst, Level 2 - Finished Products - 18 Month Contract

Responsibilities
  • Execute and perform testing as per methods, following the company’s Standard Operating Procedures, Deviations and Change Control programs and cGMP guidelines.
  • Ensure that work order documentation is complete in every aspect and all results are entered into the electronic Laboratory Information System or the Client’s Certificate of Analysis before submission to the QA reviewer.
  • Prioritize, schedule and plan daily work in order to maintain efficient workflow to assure completion of schedule and due dates.
  • In case of testing failure, immediately report to the Department Manager before proceeding any further with the test. Assist in the failure investigations as instructed. Do not discard any solutions or glassware that was used during testing.
  • Inform the Department Manager and/or Group Leader, as far in advance as possible, if the assigned work order cannot be satisfactorily completed within established scheduled time and quality of work expectations.
  • Perform additional assigned lab duties and periodically update Department Manager and/or Group Leader on the status.
  • Ensure that equipment is maintained in good order, perform calibrations and qualifications as required, volumetric/test solutions and mobile phase preparations are checked.
  • Record findings in standardized format, keeping all records and analyst notebook in good order.
  • Conduct calibration and preventive maintenance of instruments/testing apparatus (e.g., HPLC, GC, Dissolution, Thermometer, Oven, etc.) for compliance and accurate testing results.
Qualifications
  • Education: B.Sc. Chemistry or relevant field.
  • Experience: over 3 years with demonstrated ability to complete more complex role/duties.
  • Experience testing with the following instrumentation: HPLC, GC, Dissolution, Thermometer, Oven.
  • Hand/Eye coordination, ability to stand out, think outside the box.
  • Able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
  • Proficient in using various types of computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook).
  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast‑paced, highly professional environment.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others & independently.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Extended hours and shift work may be required from time to time.
