Quality Control Analyst - Food - Job Description

We are currently seeking a temporary resource to fill the role of Quality Control Analyst within our Merchandising Department, as a replacement for an employee who is presently on leave. This position requires working closely with the RSC team to ensure product quality and compliance with food safety standards.

Quality Control Analyst - Food - Responsibilities
  • Inspect inbound product according to established Standard Operating Procedures and specifications
  • Reject and document product that does not meet specifications
  • Monitor inventory by completing daily cooler inspections
  • Verify weight, temperature, size, and package integrity of products
  • Identify superior quality of product and communicate to relevant teams
  • Inspect and ripen bananas and avocados as applicable
  • Verify and issue credits for store quality claimsFacilitate returns to vendors and complete documentation
Quality Control Analyst - Food - Mandatory Skills
  • Undergraduate Degree or a DEC with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Proficient use of appropriate QC equipment
  • General understanding of Food Safety Requirements
  • Previous Food QC experience
  • Ability to work with and calibrate tools such as scales, pressure testers, and pulp thermometers
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
Quality Control Analyst - Food – Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience working in a unionized environment
  • Familiarity with cold chain management
  • Experience with government inspections
  • Ability to build relationships with vendors and government agencies
