Job summary

StackTeck Systems Limited in Brampton, ON is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician (Afternoons) to perform in-process and final inspections of plastic and metal parts, using CMMs and vision systems, and to ensure conformance to drawings and GD&T. The role reports to CI/QA leadership, with potential transition from day shift during training.

Competitive hourly pay with shift premium and benefits. Afternoon shift available, training may be provided on day shift.

Qualifications

• Post Secondary Diploma or Certificate in Quality is an asset.
• 2-5 years experience in a CMM Operator/QC Technician role with solid knowledge and experience with CMM programming and operation.
• GEO Measure/MCOSMOS experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate CMMs and vision inspection systems for dimensional inspection.
• Perform in-process and final inspections to verify conformance to drawings and GD&T standards.
• Use hand tools for accurate measurements within tight tolerances.
• Interpret part drawings and CAD models to execute inspections.
• Document inspection results and non-conformances per job sheets and customer requirements.
• Calibrate and maintain inspection equipment to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment adhering to safety standards.
• Analyze quality issues and collaborate on root cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Quality Assurance Technician (Afternoons)

Full Time Afternoon Brampton, ON, CA

Salary Range: $22.00 To $26.00 Hourly

SUMMARY: The position of Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for the quality control of work as it relates to CNC machining and assembly. The position will report to the Director, Continuous Improvement and Quality Assurance.

• Shift: Afternoon Shift Available
• Monday to Thursday: between 4:00 pm to 2:30 am
• Training may be completed on day shift depending on experience level: Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up, program, and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and vision inspection systems for precise dimensional inspection of plastic and metal parts.
• Perform in-process and final inspections to verify conformance to engineering drawings, GD&T standards, and quality specifications.
• Use hand measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, dial indicators) for accurate measurements within tight tolerances.
• Interpret part drawings and CAD models to execute detailed dimensional, functional, and visual inspections.
• Document inspection results, deviations, and non-conformances per job sheets and customer requirements.
• Conduct routine calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment to ensure measurement accuracy.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment adhering to health and safety standards.
• Analyze quality issues, communicate findings clearly, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on root cause analysis and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

• Completion of Post Secondary Diploma or Certificate in Quality an asset.
• 2-5 years experience in a CMM Operator/QC Technician role with solid knowledge and experience with CMM programming and operation.
• GEO Measure/MCOSMOS experience
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

The expected rate range for this role is $22.00 to $26.00 per hour. Individual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, job-related factors, and shift worked.
