Job summary

Arrow Machine and Fabrication Group's Stratford facility seeks a Quality Assurance professional to lead QA duties, test plans, and compliance with ISO standards. You will develop inspection strategies, coordinate first article inspections, and drive continuous quality improvements across machined, welded, and assembled parts.

You will program and operate CMMs (PC-DMIS/Calypso), read GD&T blueprints, analyze data, and present findings to teams and customers.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience in quality management, product testing or inspection.
  • Must be familiar with ISO, 8D, PPAP, first article inspection, SPC, and data entry tools.
  • Need working knowledge of CMM programming, GD&T, and blueprints reading.
  • Proficient in data analysis using computer tools.
  • Capable of presenting to internal teams and customers when needed.
  • Experience with manufacturing process control is required.
  • Proficient in CMM programming and operation (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and develop new product integration, including gauging, ITP, and first article inspection.
  • Run a CMM in manual and auto modes.
  • Program CMM for PC-DMIS.
  • Conduct qualification testing during preproduction and prototypes.
  • Perform product audits as applicable.
  • Assist in setup, provide gauging, and conduct First Off Inspections.
  • Implement and maintain quality systems per customer requirements.
  • Provide technical support for machined, welded, and assembled products.
  • Prepare and issue inspection/test plans; apply preventative measures.
  • Train on new processes, personnel, and equipment.
  • Assist in solving quality problems with suppliers and customers.
  • Process Engineering Change Notices when appropriate.
  • Ensure quality tools and procedures are available and used.
  • Assist in inspection/testing of finished products, raw materials, and subcontracted items.
  • Maintain orderliness of the Quality Department and SPC charting.

At ourStratford Facility, we fabricate and assemble components for heavy truck, defense, and off-road equipment companies. We feature fitting and welding, metal forming, saw cutting, painting, and assembly departments and manufacture everything from small components to large structures, sheet metal to heavy plate.

Compensation Range:

$27.65 up to $33.75 hourly

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the incumbent is responsible for performing a range of quality assurance duties within this ISO registered company. This position is responsible for the quality systems, testing, and performance standards of the plant and ensuring customer specifications are met at each level of production. The incumbent will be responsible for developing inspection and test plans together with the promotion of and compliance with industry safety standards.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and develop new product integration, including gauging, ITP, and first article inspection.
  • Ability to run a CMM in both manual and auto mode.
  • Ability to program CMM for PCDMIS
  • Conduct initial qualification testing of manufactured/machined products during preproduction and prototype stages.
  • Perform product audits as applicable.
  • Assist in setup, provide required gauging, and conduct First Off Inspections.
  • Implement and maintain quality systems, taking into account customer requirements while monitoring the quality levels of products for the facility.
  • Provide technical support for Machined, welded, and assembled products.
  • Prepare and issue inspection test plans, employ preventative measures as required.
  • Conduct training for new processes, personnel, and equipment.
  • Participate in solving quality problems, including supplier, internal, and customer.
  • Process Engineering Change Notices where appropriate.
  • Ensure necessary quality-related tools and procedures are available, controlled, and used correctly and efficiently
  • Assist in conducting inspection and testing of finished products, raw materials, and subcontracted intermediate products
  • Ensure the orderliness, cleanliness and efficiency of the Quality Department.
  • Ensure that SPC charts are being completed where required.
Educational Requirements:
  • Degree or diploma in Quality Technician, Engineering Technician or equivalent experience
  • Certified Quality Technician (CQT) from ASQ or equivalent certification. (preferred)
  • Training in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other quality methodologies.
Required Skills & Expertise:
  • 3-5 years’ experience in quality management, product testing or inspection.
  • Must be familiar with customer ISO and 8D, PPAP, first article inspection, SPC, and data entry tools.
  • Must have a working knowledge of CMM programming, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and be able to read blueprints.
  • Must be proficient in the use of computers in the analysis of data.
  • Must be capable of putting together and giving presentations within the company as well as to customers when required.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of manufacturing process control.
  • Proficiency in CMM programming and operation (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent software).
  • Proficiency in using hand tools for precision measurement (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing and quality lab environment.
  • May involve exposure to machinery, noise, and occasional lifting of parts or equipment.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
