Job summary

Nascent in Toronto is seeking a hands-on QA Engineer to help ensure top-quality web and mobile experiences. You’ll perform functional, regression, and API testing, build and maintain test plans, and work closely with developers, designers, and clients to verify requirements and quality.

With 1–2+ years in manual and automation testing, you’ll bring a degree in CS/IT and experience using Jira, Testiny, GitHub Issues, Postman, and SQL. Exposure to Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is required.
• Minimum 1–2 years of manual and automation testing experience.
• Experience with test management and issue-tracking tools like Jira, Testiny, GitHub Issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, exploratory, and UAT testing.
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and documentation.
• Identify, track, and verify software defects throughout the product lifecycle.
• Conduct API testing using Postman and database validation using SQL.
• Contribute to automation efforts and continuously improve QA processes.
• Analyze test results and generate reports highlighting trends and risks.
• Collaborate with developers, designers and clients to improve software quality of web and mobile apps.

What you bring to the table

• Job Type: Full-time
• Location: Toronto, In-person
• 1-2+ years of experience in Manual and Automation Testing
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Experience working with cross functional teams and/or stakeholders
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and software testing methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with API testing and defect management.
• Experience with test management and issue tracking tools such as Jira, Testiny, and GitHub Issues.
• Exposure to automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar is a plus.
• Experience creating and maintaining test reports and documentation.
