Job description

The Quality Assurance Specialist will support the Quality Assurance Manager with the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality programs across all areas of production. The role includes providing ongoing oversight of existing quality programs and systems, as well as designing, reviewing, and implementing controlled documents, risk assessments, and preventative control plans. This position is based at our Delta location, reports to the QA Leader, and is expected to start in the new year of 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Administer Change Management Program, including oversight of process trials, validations, action implementation, and risk assessment
  • Oversee Training Program, including administering training events and monitoring training completion and test-of-understanding effectiveness
  • Organize and perform vendor/supplier qualifications, audits, and reviews, ensuring the ongoing fulfilment of quality standards and specifications
  • Provide Quality oversight of innovations and new products, including defining critical control points, participating in new process trials, and supporting creation of related documentation
  • Design, review, and implement Standard Operating Procedures, Risk Assessments, Work Instructions, Preventative Control Plans, and other controlled documents in collaboration subject matter experts. Take ownership of controlled document review and continuous improvement
  • Prepare the site for Health Canada and other regulatory inspections and assist in replying to audit observations / non-conformances. Participate in internal and external audits, as required.
  • Ensure that documentation of complaint, deviation, out-of-specification, and corrective and preventative action reports is performed according to quality and regulatory requirements. Ensure resulting actions facilitate continuous improvement
  • Participate in quality investigations and root cause analyses
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in all aspects of operation
  • Administer various aspects of the Quality Management & Inventory Management Systems
  • Review and interpret analytical testing methods and results
  • Assist with operational activities, as required
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the Quality Manager or designated Quality Team leaders.
Requirements
  • 2-5 years of experience in a quality or regulatory position within the cannabis, food, pharmaceutical, or natural health product industries
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to draft and revise complex technical documents
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent education & experience relating to quality assurance
  • Knowledge of cannabis and cannabis quality metrics is considered an asset
  • Experience in an GMP, GPP, GACP, ISO: 9001, ISO: 13485, and/or ISO: 17025 environments is considered an asset
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proven analytical & creative thinking and problem solving abilities
  • Proven track record of success in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines is required
  • Knowledge of Cannabis Regulations is an asset
  • Health Canada Security Clearance is an asset
  • Proficiency in Spanish is an asset
