Job summary

Clear Destination Inc. is seeking a QA professional to plan, design, and execute risk-based testing across complex, integrated environments.

You will validate acceptance criteria, traceability to requirements, and build test coverage with SMEs to mirror real user workflows. Responsibilities include triaging defects, documenting results, and driving continuous improvement through automation and CI/CD practices, while applying governance for privacy, security, and data handling.

Qualifications

• University degree, diploma, or certification with 2+ years of directly related experience.
• Experience testing in complex or integrated application environments.
• Hands-on experience developing automated tests and working with automation frameworks, scripting or programming, and CI/CD-integrated testing.
• Experience using tools such as ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, SQL tools, test automation platforms, or similar technologies.
• Experience using AI-enabled tools to support analysis, testing efficiency, documentation, or quality improvement is an asset.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle, integrated systems, data flows, and interfaces.
• QA-related certification is an asset; ITIL is also an asset.
• Experience with pension administration or financial systems is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and execute risk-based testing for selected issues, vendor changes, projects, fixes, enhancements, configuration updates, and legislative changes.
• Confirm acceptance criteria, test coverage, estimates, schedules, test data, and traceability to requirements.
• Build relationships with subject matter experts to reflect real user workflows in testing.
• Triage issues for completeness and testability, analyze results, and identify quality risks or coverage gaps.
• Document test results and defects clearly, track issues through resolution and retesting, and prepare decision-ready test summaries.
• Assess results and residual risk to provide clear QA guidance within governance.

Test Planning, Analysis & Release Readiness

• Plan, design, and execute risk-based testing for assigned operational issues, vendor changes, projects, fixes, enhancements, configuration updates, and legislative changes.
• Confirm acceptance criteria, test coverage, estimates, schedules, test data, and traceability to requirements.
• Build effective relationships with subject matter experts and gather knowledge in practical, inventive ways, so testing reflects how users work in the system.
• Triage issues for completeness and testability, analyze results and defects, and identify quality risks, downstream impacts, or coverage gaps.
• Document test results and defects clearly, track issues through resolution and retesting, and prepare decision-ready test summaries.
• Assess results, coverage, defects, and residual risk to provide clear recommendations within established QA governance.

Automation, AI & Smarter Ways of Working

• Develop and maintain automated tests to reduce manual effort.
• Contribute to automation frameworks and CI/CD-integrated testing, identify improvement opportunities, and troubleshoot automated test failures.
• Use automation and AI-enabled tools to strengthen test planning, analysis, consistency, and early risk detection.
• Apply APS governance, privacy, security, data-handling, and human-validation expectations to automation and AI-assisted QA practices.

Independent Delivery & Continuous Improvement

• Manage assigned QA work independently, escalating risks or decisions when needed.
• Contribute practical improvements to QA practices, templates, reusable assets, and knowledge sharing

What you bring

• University degree, diploma, or certification with 2+ years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience testing in complex or integrated application environments.
• Practical hands-on experience developing automated tests and working with automation frameworks, scripting or programming, and CI/CD-integrated testing.
• Experience using technical, delivery, and automation tools such as ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, SQL tools, test automation platforms, or similar technologies.
• Experience using AI-enabled tools to support analysis, testing efficiency, documentation, or quality improvement is an asset.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle, integrated systems, data flows, and interfaces.
• Professional QA certification, such as CSTE, CSQA, or ISTQB, is an asset; ITIL certification is also an asset.
• Experience with pension administration, financial systems, or other regulated environments is an asset.
