Site Support & Internal Audits provides rapid, hands-on technical quality support for product, process, equipment, workmanship, and customer-quality issues. This role works directly with site personnel to understand problems at the source, contain risk, support root-cause analysis, coordinate or perform approved repair and rework activity, verify that corrective actions are effective, and drive sustainable process improvements. When not responding to an active quality issue, the Quality Technician conducts internal quality-system, process, product, and layered process audits; supports corrective-action closure; evaluates adherence to standard work and quality requirements; and identifies opportunities to strengthen manufacturing controls at the site. The successful candidate combines strong manufacturing troubleshooting ability with disciplined problem-solving, sound technical judgment, practical repair knowledge, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with site teams.

Problem Response and Technical Diagnosis
  • Respond to quality escalations, production disruptions, repeat defects, customer complaints, product returns, and significant nonconformances at the manufacturing site.
  • Respond promptly at the site and assess the condition, scope, urgency, customer impact, safety implications, and production impact of the issue.
  • Establish immediate containment actions to prevent further production, shipment, use, or installation of suspect material.
  • Determine whether the issue is related to product design, material, supplier quality, fabrication, assembly, welding, coating, machining, wiring, testing, packaging, handling, maintenance, operator technique, inspection method, process control, or adherence to standard work.
  • Apply structured problem-solving methods such as 5 Why, Fishbone/Ishikawa, Is/Is Not analysis, Pareto analysis, process mapping, fault-tree analysis, DOE, SPC, and 8D or corrective-action methodologies, as appropriate.
  • Define and communicate a clear technical problem statement, including what failed, where it occurred, when it began, which product or process is affected, the extent of exposure, and the immediate next steps.
  • Evaluate product against drawings, specifications, workmanship standards, test requirements, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Collect, preserve, and document objective evidence, including photographs, measurements, samples, inspection records, process parameters, repair records, and relevant traceability information.
Repair Assessment and Disposition
  • Evaluate nonconforming material and equipment to determine whether it can be safely and acceptably repaired, reworked, reprocessed, used as-is through formal approval, returned to a supplier, sent to an approved outside repair source, scrapped, or replaced.
Quality Technician - Site Quality Support & Internal Audits
  • Develop or review rework instructions that clearly define the defect, repair method, required tools/materials, acceptance criteria, inspection points, safety requirements, and authorization needed before release.
  • Perform limited hands-on troubleshooting, inspection, rework, or repair activities when within the individual’s demonstrated technical competency, site authorization, safety requirements, and company procedures.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, manufacturing engineering, product engineering, production, suppliers, and qualified external service or repair vendors when specialized repairs, equipment support, testing, calibration, machining, welding, coating, electrical work, or other technical services are required.
  • Identify the appropriate internal function, supplier, OEM, or qualified repair vendor for work that cannot or should not be completed internally at the site.
  • Ensure outsourced repair work is supported by clear technical requirements, documented disposition, traceability, inspection criteria, and verification before product or equipment is returned to service or released.
  • Verify repair effectiveness through inspection, functional testing, first-piece validation, capability review, trial production, or other appropriate acceptance methods.
What will help you thrive in this role?
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints, diagrams, and drawings.
  • This position will require the use of electronic communication apps/software and basic computer skills.
  • This position is based in a highly team-oriented atmosphere.
  • The right candidate must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and peers in a respectful and mature way.
  • Experience with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, fixed gauges, comparators preferred.
