Job summary

Qualifications

• RECE in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators, or
• Diploma in Child and Youth Care/Child and Youth Worker (CYC/CYW) or equivalent, or
• Teacher in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT).

Responsibilities

• Provide active supervision and ensure safety and well-being of children at all times.
• Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate activities based on interests and needs of school-age children.
• Create a welcoming, inclusive environment that encourages independence and social development.
• Build caring relationships with children, families, and team members.

• Use positive guidance strategies to support behaviour, self-regulation, and social skills.
• Observe children and communicate important information to the team.

Working collaboratively with the childcare team, this position plans and delivers activities based on children’s interests, strengths, and needs while promoting independence, positive relationships, and well-being. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with school-age children and is looking for a schedule that includes both morning and afternoon shifts.

• Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators; or
• Diploma in Child and Youth Care/Child and Youth Worker (CYC/CYW) or another recognized equivalent qualification; or
• Teacher in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT).
