Job summary

Insight Global in Canada is seeking a senior performance engineer to translate non-functional quality strategies into executable plans aligned with delivery goals. You will lead data-driven validation, establish KPIs, and enforce quality gates across CI/CD pipelines.

You'll develop scalable testing frameworks, model workloads, and collaborate with engineering teams to enhance observability, resiliency, and security in cloud-native environments. Banking/credit union experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, performance engineering, site reliability engineering, quality engineering, or related field.
• Extensive experience leading enterprise-scale non-functional testing initiatives as a senior technical contributor or Performance SDET.
• Deep expertise in performance-engineering methodologies, workload modelling, capacity planning and scalability testing.
• Hands-on experience designing and evolving performance-testing frameworks using tools such as k6, Gatling, JMeter, Locust, NeoLoad.
• Experience implementing resilience and chaos-engineering practices using tools such as Gremlin, Chaos Toolkit, Azure Chaos Studio.
• Strong understanding of API architectures, microservices, distributed systems, event-driven architectures and cloud-native apps.
• Programming skills: Python, JavaScript, C#, Java.
• Proven experience designing and building evolving performance testing frameworks.
• Experience with AI-powered testing or test generation: LLMs, agentic and spec-driven automation.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms including GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies, AWS or Azure, Docker/Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of database-performance concepts across relational and NoSQL.
• Experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Monitor.
• Banking, credit union experience.

• Partner with engineering teams to improve monitoring, logging, tracing and telemetry capabilities using observability platforms for performance analysis and reliability validation.
• Support release-readiness reviews by validating non-functional quality requirements and operational risks.
