Job summary

Startec Compression & Process Ltd. in Calgary, AB, seeks a QC Welding Inspector (CWB Level 2) to join the Quality team. You will perform in-process and final inspections on pressure vessels, piping and modular equipment, and support field inspections for the service division.

Reporting to the QC Supervisor, you will verify welds, material traceability, and adherence to drawings and codes, with occasional travel to client sites and potential overtime to meet project needs.

Qualifications

• Current CWB Level 2 Welding Inspector Certification (CSA W178.2).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience performing quality control inspections within fabrication of pressure vessels, piping, structural steel, or modular process equipment.
• Strong working knowledge of ASME/CSA standards and material traceability.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections of pressure vessels, piping, structural steel, skid assemblies, and modular process equipment.
• Verify welding parameters, preheat, interpass temperatures, and completed welds in accordance with applicable codes.
• Review fabrication drawings, ITPs, client specifications, and QC procedures for compliance.
• Maintain inspection records and prepare MDRs for ASME vessels and piping systems.
• Coordinate NDE activities (RT/UT/MT/PT) and witness tests as required.
• Support audits and drive continuous improvement in inspection processes.
