Job summary

Evonik Canada Inc. Vancouver Laboratories (VAN) seeks an experienced QC leader to drive operational excellence in a fast-paced CDMO setting for parenteral drug products. You will coordinate testing, stability programs, and reference standards while ensuring GMP compliance and collaboration with clients.

The role requires strong project management, data analysis, and communication skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and regulatory adherence in a hybrid Vancouver work environment.

Qualifications

  • BSc or MSc in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology or equivalent.
  • 5–8 years of experience in the parenteral pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Quality Control experience preferred, with project management and planning skills.
  • Proficient in Lean/Six Sigma to drive operational excellence.
  • Excellent technical writing, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize QC work for the CDMO.
  • Lead QC scheduling and coordinate daily/weekly activities.
  • Prepare stability protocols and manage testing timelines.
  • Coordinate reference standards and testing requirements with Clients.
  • Maintain QC master schedule ensuring alignment with delivery plans.
  • Ensure GMP, EHSS compliance in all QC activities.

Sample management includes cross-functional collaboration for RM sampling, arrangement of external testing, Utilities and Environmental Monitoring as well as proactive communication with those external labs regarding testing requirements and timelines for batch disposition.Draft drug product specification & sampling plansEnsure all stability projects are captured and maintained accurately in the QC system, which includes but is not limited to the following:Prepare stability protocols accurately in accordance with the project requirements for internal and external review and approval in a timely mannerEnsure all stability samples are pulled and scheduled for testing within the defined timeframeSupport periodic inventory count of all stability samples performed by the assigned QC analyst(s)Perform peer review and approval of QC data related to testing of raw material, in-process, release and stability materialsSupport the team to assure all reference standards are received and managed accurately in accordance with site procedure, includes but is not limited to:Coordinate with Project Management to receive the reference standards from ClientsCoordinate the purchasing of the required reference standardsAccurately maintain the master list of reference standards; proactively manage the expiry/ re-test dating to assure adequate supply of standards are available for testing as per defined scheduleParticipate in project(s) and temporary assignment(s) as assignedREQUIREMENTSBSc.
