Job summary

Placements24 is seeking motivated individuals for a Junior Quality Assurance (QA) Tester Apprentice program in Kimberley, Northern Cape. The role blends remote work with in-office days to build a solid QA foundation, focusing on manual testing, bug identification, and collaboration with development teams.

Training covers testing methodologies, tools, and best practices. You will learn and apply testing processes, document defects, and gain exposure to test automation concepts as you grow within

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; IT certification is a plus.
• Basic understanding of software development lifecycle and testing concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and meticulous approach.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a hybrid team structure.
• Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn new technologies.
• Must be able to work from the Kimberley, Northern Cape office on specified days.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and executing test cases for software applications.
• Identify, document, and track bugs and issues found during testing.
• Perform manual testing of new features and bug fixes.
• Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand requirements.
• Learn to use bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira).
• Participate in test planning and review meetings.
• Contribute to the improvement of testing processes.
• Gain exposure to test automation concepts.
