A leading food manufacturer in Brampton is seeking a QA Materials Coordinator to ensure ingredient quality and compliance with safety standards. The role involves managing documentation, verifying material quality, and participating in audits. Ideal candidates have a science background and strong communication skills, along with a commitment to quality and detail. This full-time position offers opportunities for career development within a family-founded company known for innovative food solutions.
Skjodt-Barrett is a world-class manufacturer of food solutions and custom ingredients for North America's most beloved and trusted brands. We take pride in working closely with our customers to understand their unique needs and create innovative, individualized solutions that deliver joy to their customers.
A family-founded company started over 40 years ago, we are backed by the investment company Axel Johnson Inc (AJI). With their investment and support, we are well-positioned to foster growth and explore new opportunities.
Our customers, blue-chip international brands and mid-sized producers alike, are why we exist. Our teams of innovators, communicators, and managers are the people who meet their needs, build trust, and exceed their expectations.
Reporting to the Site Manager, we are looking for a QA Materials Coordinator to join our team. You will play a critical role in focusing on the day-to-day activities to meet increased production demands, customer requirements, and quality standards. You will ensure that every ingredient entering our facility meets strict quality and food safety standards before it is cleared for use in production. You will review supplier documentation, verify analytical and food safety requirements, and work directly with vendors when materials do not meet specifications.
This is an onsite role working Monday to Friday 11am - 7pm at our Brampton headquarters.
Impact. You will play an essential part in ensuring that every product begins with the highest-quality ingredients. Your work will directly influence production efficiency, food safety, customer satisfaction, and overall plant performance. You will partner closely with QA, production, receiving, scheduling, and customer service teams.
Exposure. You will gain hands‑on experience with raw materials evaluation, supplier documentation, and the day‑to‑day operations of a high‑volume food manufacturing environment. You will see how quality expectations are applied from the moment materials arrive, giving you valuable insight into the standards and processes that support safe, efficient production.
Career development. At Skjodt-Barrett, we believe in developing our people. This position is open due to an internal promotion, and you will work for a Manager with a strong track record of supporting growth within her team. As you deepen your knowledge and take on new responsibilities, you will have opportunities to move into areas such as QA, Product Development, and other roles across the organization.
