Your opportunity

MedIT provides information technology support for the Temerty Faculty of Medicine. Our mission is to partner and collaborate with clients, University, and third parties to determine value based, sustainable technology solutions that enable the Faculty to achieve its academic mission.

In collaboration with Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME), MedIT will be undergoing a transformation of systems (MEITT) in Medical Education to support a high-quality teaching and learning environment. This major project has a two-year implementation horizon and will result in an integrated Learner Management Platform for both the MD Program and PGME.

As the QA Engineer you will play an important role in this transformation by collaborating with project and technical teams to write, test, and modify programming code based on business requirements and IT specifications for the MEITT initiative. You will create comprehensive testing plans that contribute directly to the success of the new Learner Management System and the modernization of medical education at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Collaborate with project and technical teams to develop, maintain and conduct quality assurance testing to ensure delivery of quality applications for the MEITT initiative
  • Create comprehensive testing approaches with High Level Test Plans and detailed functional test cases that align with product requirements
  • Execute test cases (both manual and automated, as required) and identify defects for all planned production. software and data changes, including production incident fixes.
  • Evaluate overall project test results and provide recommendation on production implementation readiness.
  • Conducting usability testing for web applications andtroubleshooting and resolving technical issues
  • Creating complex and technical documentation including user support guides
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
  • Minimum four years of related experience in Quality Assurance testing for applications and websites.
  • Proven experience in performing detailed analysis of product requirements with project team to establish a complete understanding of testing needs.
  • Proven experience in creating and executing comprehensive test plans of varying levels of complexity, including detailed test cases that fully address all product requirements.
  • Experience creating, maintaining and executing automated regression test scripts using QA tools such Selenium, Katalon, Cucumber or similar.
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment
  • Demonstrated experience with direct contact with clients, including training end users, and experience in open source development
  • Must have superior organizational and analytical/diagnostic skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
  • Must be self-motivated, results oriented, a quick learner with a strong customer service focus and impeccable attention to detail
  • Works well under pressure in a fast paced environment, meets strict deadlines and has sound judgment
  • Works effectively both independently and as part of a team
