Job summary

JD Power is seeking a QA Automation Analyst to contribute across the Software Testing Lifecycle, building automated test frameworks and validating requirements. You will collaborate with stakeholders to define test strategies and execute comprehensive automated tests for UI modules and web services.

The role requires strong automation experience with Selenium, Cucumber, Playwright, REST Assured, and Java, plus CI/CD pipeline integration and SQL proficiency. Remote Canada-based work is supported.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience developing automated tests using Selenium, Cucumber, Playwright, REST Assured, Java, or JUnit for UI modules built on java and Web services.
• 3+ years of experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience writing basic SQL data retrieval queries using joins.
• Experience with web servers such as Apache HTTP Server or NGINX.
• Experience with version control software such as Git or Perforce.
• Experience with API testing of RESTful and SOAP-based web services using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or other API testing frameworks.
• Experience with build tools such as Maven or Ant or Gradle.
• Experience with CI tools such as Jenkins or TeamCity.
• Detailed knowledge of all phases in the Software Testing Lifecycle.
• Experience designing and executing test suites for unit, integration, system, and acceptance test levels.
• Experience working with Java as a primary language.
• Familiarity with Typescript for Playwright.
• Familiarity with SOA and database design.
• Excellent presentation skills with ability to communicate at all levels.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and strong problem-solving skills.
• Familiar with leveraging AI/LLM-based tools to enhance test planning and automation.

The Role

The Quality Assurance Automation Analyst II contributes to all phases of the Software Testing Lifecycle through the analysis, design, execution, and maintenance of software test suites. This role works closely with Business Unit stakeholders to review requirements, validate designs, create work estimates, and verify product releases.

The Quality Assurance Automation Analyst III also works in close collaboration with the Quality Assurance Team Lead to define and implement best practices across all phases of the Software Testing Lifecycle.

• Experience with API testing of RESTful and SOAP-based web services using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or other API testing frameworks.
• Experience with build tools such as Maven or Ant or Gradle
• Experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins or TeamCity
• Detailed knowledge of all phases in the Software Testing Lifecycle
• Experience designing and executing test suites for unit, integration, system, and acceptance test levels.
• Experience working with a variety of software development languages (mainly java programming)
• Familiarity with Typescript as a language (use for Playwright)
• Familiarity with service-oriented architecture and design principles
• Familiarity with relational and non-relational database design

Salary

This position has a starting salary range of $60,000 - $75,000 CAD per year. This is the range we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for the role at the time of posting. An employee’s pay within the range is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, education, qualifications, experience, performance, business or organizational needs, and geographic location.
