Job summary

Astek in Montreal, Canada is seeking a skilled Python developer to join our security-focused engineering squad. The role emphasizes building integrations for Enterprise HSM and Key Management Solutions, implementing tooling for operational enablement and cybersecurity analysis, and delivering DevSecOps tasks including CI/CD.

You will write testing frameworks, troubleshoot issues, participate in on-call rotations, and collaborate with technology stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of development experience with Python in enterprise or industrial contexts.
• Strong knowledge of Python libraries such as requests, json, logging, argparse, subprocess, pandas, pytest.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Bash/Shell scripting.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Experience working with Linux environments. Experience with Git version control and CI/CD platforms (e.g. GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins...).
• Understanding vulnerability management, remediation workflows, and secure software development practices.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills coupled with a collaborative approach.

• Experience with enterprise Hardware Security Modules, preferably Thales Luna HSM and Luna client; Familiarity with PKCS#11 or enterprise Cryptographic services.
• Experience with enterprise Key Management Solutions, preferably Thales CipherTrust Manager.
• Experience with containers and Kubernetes.
• Experience in modern observability and monitoring technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry...
• Experience with reliability best practices, such as SLOs, incident response, observability engineering...
• Experience with cybersecurity practices, such as encryption at rest and in transit, secret management, CVE remediation, authentication/authorisation, and PKI.
