Job summary

A premier hospitality destination in Jasper, Alberta is seeking an experienced Pastry Kitchen Manager to oversee and manage the Commissary Pastry Kitchen. This role requires over 10 years of pastry production experience, strong leadership skills, and knowledge of baking techniques. The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling, menu development, and ensuring food safety standards. This full-time position requires relocation and legal eligibility to work in Canada.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of pastry production experience, preferably in a high-volume setting.
  • Strong knowledge of baking and pastry techniques, trends, and ingredients.
  • Proven leadership skills and a collaborative, positive attitude.
  • Food Safe certification is an asset.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.

Overview

Pursuit Collection 86 Connaught Dr, Jasper, AB. Full-time position located in Alberta, Canada. Beginning November 2025. Relocation to the area and legal ability to work in Canada required.

Responsibilities
  • Overall management of Commissary Pastry Kitchen.
  • Scheduling, menu costing, and menu development.
  • Training and development; lead and support team scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and responsible use of all kitchen equipment.
  • Production Planning & Execution: plan monthly, weekly, and daily pastry production schedules and par levels based on order volumes from the Banff Jasper Collection (BJC) outlets; demonstrate experience with high-volume programs and scale production for new locations or seasonal lines.
  • Maintain FIFO inventory practices, correct labeling, and proper dating of all items.
  • Procurement & Inventory Control: order adequate ingredients and supplies while controlling costs; maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment; support the team in cleaning and maintaining equipment and utensils.
  • Comply with all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards according to OH&S.
