Job summary

A leading vehicle outfitting company located in Surrey, Canada, is seeking a motivated Purchaser to join their Operations team. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of experience in purchasing and team leadership, with strong organizational skills and a positive attitude. What you will do:
  • Lead & assist the purchasing team (1 report) ensuring daily objectives and priorities are met
  • Lead the annual cycle count plan
  • Inventory management (aging, valuation, substitutions, adjustments, new launches/drops, RMAs, etc)
  • Manage Vendor Performance
  • Expand Vendor network
  • Lead continuous improvement within your team
  • Oversee development and management of Freight vendors.
  • Assist in the development, training, and adherence of the department policies & standards
Your Experience:
  • 7+ years in leading a team
  • 7+ years’ experience in purchasing related role
  • Understanding of export / import operations
  • Experience with the set up and execution of inventory cycle counts
  • Experience with developing vendor relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, logistics companies, cross border LTL freight, freight claims management
  • Strong Understanding & Experience of Customs & CUSMA requirements
  • Experienced Excel user and ERP system or detailed and software navigation and data entry experience preferred
  • Happy, Positive attitude of customer service and a desire to help
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational planning skills; team player with collaborative working style
  • Automotive/Mechanical background considered an asset
  • Proven record of tracking and improving results in quality and cost reduction
  • First Aid Training certificates considered an asset
  • Successful candidate must complete a criminal background check
