Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Consulting Purchasing/Inventory Specialist to join our vibrant team in the Accounting + Finance industry. This role is integral to our operations and requires a candidate with a strong background in inventory management, purchasing, organization, and vendor relations. The ideal candidate will have a knack for collaboration and a keen eye for detail. This position is well-suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is driven by efficiency and accuracy.

Responsibilities

As a Consulting Purchasing/Inventory Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and overseeing the entire inventory process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency at all times.
  • Conducting regular physical counts of inventory, reconciling actual stock count to computer-generated reports.
  • Developing and implementing purchasing strategies, including the identification of potential vendors and negotiation of contracts.
  • Maintaining a well-organized inventory storage area that allows for easy location and retrieval of items.
  • Coordinating with vendors for the timely delivery of goods and services, ensuring that all purchases adhere to company policy and budget.
  • Collaborating with various departments to forecast needs and plan for future orders.
  • Identifying potential inventory shortages or excesses and proposing solutions to management.
  • Providing regular reports on inventory levels, purchases, and vendor performance to senior management.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, the candidate must possess the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 - 3 years of experience in a similar role within the Accounting + Finance industry.
  • Proven experience in inventory management and purchasing.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong vendor management skills, with a proven track record of successful negotiations.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with various departments and levels of management.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A degree in business administration, finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
