Job description

At Wildstone Construction, every project we deliver relies on strong teamwork, quality materials, and careful planning. As our Purchaser, you’ll play a key role in making sure our teams have what they need — from construction materials to specialized equipment — so projects stay on schedule and on budget. Based in our Penticton or Kelowna location, you’ll collaborate with Project Managers, Department Managers, and our Accounting, Estimating, and Asset Management teams to source, negotiate, and procure materials, equipment, and services while building strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.

If you’re organized, proactive, and enjoy balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be at the center of our procurement process, helping projects run smoothly and efficiently. Your responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with internal teams to forecast procurement needs and plan purchases accordingly
  • Sourcing, negotiating, and securing materials, equipment, and services while building strong vendor relationships
  • Managing purchase orders, contracts, and delivery logistics to ensure projects get what they need on time
  • Negotiating terms, conditions, scope of work, and pricing with vendors, and executing contracts and amendments
  • Coordinating and managing logistics for material deliveries, including scheduling, tracking shipments
  • Addressing and resolving discrepancies related to quantity, quality, or delivery issues with suppliers
  • Evaluating, onboarding, and managing vendors, including reviewing samples for quality and compliance and processing credit applications
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes and supplier performance
Who You Are

You bring experience, curiosity, and a proactive approach to solving problems. You are:

  • Experienced with a minimum of 3 years in purchasing/procurement, ideally in construction
  • Knowledgeable about general construction and MEP materials, equipment, and supply markets
  • Skilled in negotiation, organization, and forecasting procurement needs
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with procurement or ERP software
Compensation

The starting salary range for this role is $90,000 – $100,000. Pay range variables reflect factors such as industry experience, responsibility level, supplier management skills, and project scale and complexity.
