Job summary

Alberta Health Services in Edmonton is seeking a Psychometrist to support pediatric, adult, and geriatric divisions. Under supervision of a registered psychologist, you will administer and score a variety of psychometric tests, record behavioural observations, and ensure accurate data is available for clinical decision making.

You will work with diverse groups including stroke, brain injury, autism, and dementia, liaising with psychologists and the treatment team to promote high-quality patient

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology from an accredited university is required.
  • Experience administering current psychological measures is preferred (WAIS-IV, WISC-V, etc).
  • Ability to record detailed behavioural observations and liaise with a treatment team.

Your Opportunity

The successful applicant will work within the Pediatric, Adult, and Geriatric divisions, administering and scoring various psychological and neuropsychological measures under the direction of a registered psychologist or neuropsychologist. Recording detailed behavioural is required. Liaising with psychologists, neuropsychologists, and other members of the treatment team will also be expected to ensure patient care. The successful candidate will work with a variety of toddler, preschool, school-aged, adult, and geriatric groups, including but not limited to stroke, acquired brain injury, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, epilepsy, autism spectrum disorder, dementia, and other complex diagnostic presentations.

Description

As a Psychometrist, you will provide services related to psychological assessment, working under the direction of the responsible psychologist(s). You will meet with patients and administer and score a variety of psychological tests, and record behavioural observations. Your information and results are provided to effectively support the psychologist(s) responsible for interpreting assessment data and any related clinical decision making or recommendations. You may also provide support to psychologists in their research and or evaluation activities.

Required Qualifications

Completion of bachelor's degree in Psychology from an accredited university.

Additional Required Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.Sc.) from an approved university training program is required. Demonstrated test administration skills and a minimum of 2 years of experience with a variety of current assessment measures, including the WAIS-IV, WISC-V, WPPSI-IV, WMS-IV, WRAT-5, WIAT-4, CVLT-3, RCFT, DKEFS, NAB, CPT-3, and WCST are preferred.
