The clinical catchment area is the Central Zone of Nova Scotia Health, but the team provides support and leadership to clinicians working with early phase psychosis patients across the province via the Early Psychosis Intervention Nova Scotia (EPINS) provincial network. It is also a very academically active team, with research programs in psychopharmacology, psychosocial therapies, neuroimaging, cannabis, and psychosis service delivery, as well as supervising numerous clinical and research learners at all levels.
The Clinical Psychologist is a key member of NSEPP (the Early Psychosis Program), providing specialized psychological assessment, intervention, and consultation for young adults 19 – 35 years experiencing first‑episode psychosis or early signs of psychosis. Working within an interdisciplinary team, the Psychologist delivers evidence‑based treatments that are recovery‑oriented, trauma-informed and congruent with best practices and family centred care.
