Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychological assessment and testing under supervision of the Manager of Psychological Services.
  • Deliver crisis intervention and mental health counselling to students.
  • Counsel/consult with students, parents, teachers and outside agencies on educational and psychological issues.
  • Collaborate with department staff, other Board staff and outside agencies.
  • Communicate information clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Travel within the District as required.

Posting Overview :

Reporting to the Manager of Psychological Services, this position will provide psychological assessment services, crisis intervention as well as mental health consultation and counselling to the students of the Lambton Kent District School Board.

Qualifications/Experience :

  • Possess a Master's level degree in Psychology;
  • Registration with the College of Psychologists or Psychotherapistsis mandatory.

Other Key Skills & Knowledge :

  • Determine intervention strategies with school based team;
  • Counsel/consult with students, parents, teachers, outside agencies on a variety of student related educational and psychological issues;
  • Provide psychological assessment and testing under the supervision of the Manager of Psychological Services and consult with parents, teachers, school administration and outside agencies;
  • Work effectively as a team member with department staff, other Board staff, outside agencies;
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing to relay information accurately;
  • Experience in the above areas, preferably in an educational setting is an asset;
  • Travel will be required within the District.

Position Effective Date & Length :

Temporary CUPE, 35 hours/week. Serving schools throughout the District.
Salary: $44.11/hour-$46.67/hour
