Job description

Role and Facility Information

We’re looking for a psychiatrist to join our team at Penticton Regional Hospital, offering a flexible and balanced practice in a supportive community setting in the South Okanagan Valley, surrounded by lakes, vineyards, and year-round outdoor recreation.

You will become part of a collegial and supportive group of four psychiatrists delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care. Our 16-bed Inpatient Psychiatric Unit provides acute mental health and substance use services within a modern, safe, and accessible facility.

In addition, you will work alongside well-established outpatient and community-based programs, including Short Term Counselling, Community Case Management, Vocational Rehabilitation, Physical Activation, Anxiety and Depression services, DBT programming, Seniors Mental Health, and Rural Outreach, allowing for a diverse and fulfilling scope of practice across the continuum of care.

This role offers a high degree of clinical autonomy, with flexibility in how you structure your outpatient practice, including appointment lengths for consultations and follow-ups.

Call responsibilities are shared within the group, with a collegial approach to scheduling. The current model supports approximately one in five coverage. You will be well supported with dedicated administrative resources and office space.

Penticton offers an exceptional lifestyle, combining a relaxed pace of living with year-round recreational opportunities including hiking, cycling, water sports, skiing, and world-class wineries. It is truly an ideal place to build both a fulfilling career and a balanced life.
