Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric care within a 12-bed inpatient unit, outpatient clinic, and through consultations in medical, surgical units, and the emergency department.
  • Collaborate with Indigenous partners and clinical teams to expand access to mental health services in rural East Kootenays and support community initiatives.
  • Address chronic mental health conditions and substance use disorders and contribute to leadership in mental health strategies and innovation (including opportunities related to ECT).
  • Contribute to continuous learning, professional development, and implementation of innovative practices within a supportive team.
Qualifications
  • You\'ll hold, or be eligible for, licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).
  • If you\'re a US-trained physician with ABMS certification in psychiatry, you may be eligible to practice under the USA certified class.
  • To practice medicine here, you\'ll have coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
