Job summary

A healthcare organization in Ontario is seeking a psychiatrist for their Concurrent Disorders/Addiction Psychiatry Outpatient Service. The successful candidate will manage outpatients with substance use disorders and another psychiatric disorder, working part-time for two days a week as part of a multidisciplinary team. Candidates must have a valid Ontario CPSO license and be trained psychiatrists. Interest in teaching or clinical research is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of patients within a general psychiatry outpatient service.
  • Work as a member of a multidisciplinary team which includes nursing and allied staff.
  • Participate in weekly interdisciplinary meetings and case conferences.

Education

Valid Ontario CPSO license
Trained psychiatrist with FRCPC or equivalent
Eligible for a Faculty position with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences, McMaster University
Interest and aptitude for teaching and/or clinical research

St Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton (SJHH) is seeking psychiatrists to work in the Concurrent Disorders/Addiction Psychiatry Outpatient Service (General Psychiatry). The successful candidate will care for outpatients presenting with an alcohol and/or other substance use disorder together with another psychiatric disorder. The psychiatrist will work as a member of a multidisciplinary team with expertise in caring for persons with complex mental health needs. At this time, we are seeking psychiatrists who could provide part-time support to this service for two full days per week.
