Job summary

Horizon Health Network seeks a Psychiatrist to join a collaborative, patient-focused team in Miramichi, New Brunswick. This permanent full-time role offers broad clinical scope and meaningful impact on mental health care in the community.

You will work in a rural setting with multidisciplinary collaboration, providing addiction and mental health care, ECT services, and supervision as needed. RCPSC certification and NB licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Must have Medical Degree and postgraduate Psychiatry training.
• Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
• Valid license through New Brunswick College of Physicians and Surgeons and NB Medical Society membership.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians, nursing and allied staff on addiction and mental health care.
• Provide consultations and longitudinal care via in-office, virtual, and home visits.
• Deliver ECT services and supervise learners as required.
• Participate in after-hours and weekend on-call coverage.

Incentives & Remuneration

Base salary range $362,517 - $440,740 plus fee-for-service billing opportunities,paid time off (including vacation and education leave), health and travel insurance benefits, sick benefits, and employer-paid contributions to our pension plan.

The compensation range was recently renegotiated as part of the Physician Services Agreement negotiations. In accordance with the negotiated agreement, compensation rates will increase annually through 2028, with the agreement scheduled for renegotiation in 2029.

Successful applicants may be eligible to receive the following:

• Rural Incentive: $100,000.00 with a 4-year return of service.
• Moving expensereimbursement is also available.

What you willdo

Our ideal candidate will collaborate with other Physicians,Nursingand other Allied medical staff in the following areas:

• Community-based Addiction and Mental Health (AMH) team providing consultations and longitudinal care to patients via in-office, virtual and in-home/LTC visits
• Close collaboration with our outstanding Medicine colleagues including consultations to in-patient units
• ECT Service

All members of our department are expected to provide:

• After-hours and weekend on-call coverage for adults and children, providing care for inpatients and consultation to the emergency department (paid stipend and fee-for-service billing)
• ECT Service
• Clinical supervision of medical students and residents

Who you are

• You have a Medical Degree from a recognized medical school and postgraduate studies (residency) in the field of Psychiatry.
• You have experience in collaborative multidisciplinary Addiction and Mental Health care.
• You have Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and a valid license through New Brunswick College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick (CPSNB) and become a member of the NB Medical Society.
