Job summary

Extendicare Oshawa Park Rd is hiring a part-time PSW/HCA with a valid VSCC to support residents in our long-term care home. You will provide compassionate care, assist with daily living, document care plans, and work closely with the care team to promote quality of life.

Experience in long-term care or community home care is preferred; strong English communication and ability to follow care routines are required. A reliable vehicle is required for community visits as needed.

Qualifications

• Completed a PSW Program or HCA/CCA certification meeting position standards.
• Experience in Long Term Care or community home care with exposure to dementia and palliative care preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in care planning systems and documentation.
• Ability to communicate positively with staff, residents/patients and families.
• Ability to provide care in accordance with legislation, routines, nursing care plans; read/write English and understand instructions in English.
• Experience working independently in Community Home Care is an asset.
