A healthcare service provider in Hinton, Alberta is seeking a Protective Services Officer II to ensure safety and security for patients and staff. This full-time role involves security monitoring, enforcement of regulations, and participation in safety practices. Candidates must have a high school diploma and be eligible for Community Peace Officer appointment. Training programs and certifications are required. Competitive salary between $33.42 and $38.27 per hour.
Protective Services is a 24‑hour, 7‑day department that employs sworn Community Peace Officers to ensure a superior level of safety and security for all patients, visitors, and employees at our facilities. The services are an integrated approach with our clinical partners, using a patient‑ and family‑centered care approach with an emphasis on customer service. Protective Services, as the law‑enforcement and disaster‑response unit within the facility, enforces regulatory, federal, provincial, and municipal legislation and policies to support delivery and access to healthcare. As a member of Protective Services, the Protective Services Officer I will interact with a myriad of select populations with unique or specialized needs. Our paramount goal is to maintain a space that all people can safely access and deliver quality healthcare. This posting will recruit for multiple openings.
As a Protective Services Officer II, you will provide security and protective services for all patients, visitors, staff, and AHS property, including violence monitoring, prevention, and intervention; enforcement of applicable federal, provincial, and municipal statutes; asset loss prevention and internal investigations; preparation of court documents and securing evidence; risk assessment and hazard identification; arrests, apprehensions and detentions of persons; and first‑responder duties to critical events. You will support facility departments on matters of security and safety practices, participate in reviewing and recommending policy, and foster and maintain positive public relations through relationships with internal and external contacts.
