A regional health authority in Tofino is seeking a Protection Services Officer responsible for maintaining and enforcing security for staff and patients. The ideal candidate will have Grade 12 education, security training certifications, and a valid B.C. Security Guard License. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with safety policies and being physically capable of performing security duties. Travel may be required for this position.

Reporting to the Team Leader, Protection Services, the Protection Services Officer maintains and enforces security of persons and property in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Travel may be a requirement of this position. If applicable, transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment and the incumbent must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
Grade 12, successful completion of recognized Basic and Advanced Security Training certification, Intermediate First Aid (formerly OFA Level 2) plus one year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Holds a valid B.C. Security Guard License with applicable handcuff endorsement. Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
