Property Service Person, (6 Month Contract)

Description

The Property Service Person is responsible for providing property management services for an assigned portfolio of Reena locations. Acting under the direction of the Property Supervisor, following an order tracking system, and taking initiative, the Property Service Person provides preventive and ad hoc maintenance and repair services to Reena Multi-Residences. This position may also be involved in various projects, such as new builds or renovations, liaising with contractors and project managers.

The ideal candidate must have a valid driver license. Note: This posting is for an existing vacancy that is currently open. Key Responsibilities
  • Uses Reena Property Maintenance System to perform building maintenance and repairs
  • Ensures all equipment and systems at assigned locations are operated in a safe and efficient manner, and in compliance with all applicable government codes & regulations
  • Installs and maintains Reena safety equipment
  • Initiates preventative maintenance in accordance with the Property Supervisor
  • Completes systematic property inspections of all systems and physical building on a regular basis, documenting with established systems
  • Assists with moving and set up as required, coordinating logistics
  • Maintains sound knowledge of all aspects of building operations including but not limited to HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, health and safety equipment
  • Purchases required supplies for minor repairs and maintenance
  • Works with the location supervisor and employee to analyze and prioritize property needs ongoing and as the location populations change
  • Engages with contractors and service providers as required within pre-approved guidelines
  • Maintains accurate records, reports and documentation as required
  • Monitors equipment warranties and liaises with manufacturers/suppliers to have work completed under warranty
  • Produces reports as needed with regards to maintenance and equipment
  • Complies with all applicable health and safety requirements/legislation and any other applicable legislative requirements to ensure adherence to the highest standards and report any issues and/or concerns immediately to the appropriate parties and follows up as required
  • Meets with Health and Safety officials, Building Inspectors as required
  • Purchases tools, equipment and supplies according to Reena’s policies and procedures and within budget, in conjunction with the Property Manager and Supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Minimum high school diploma required
  • Ability to travel and must possess own vehicle required
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a property service/superintendent/maintenance capacity required
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license in good standing required
  • Certificates in any of the following preferred: Appliance Repair, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC Technician, Facilities Technician, is an asset
  • Strong experience and knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliance repair, major and minor renovations, fire and building codes
  • Able to plan and organize a variety of construction, maintenance and repair tasks
  • Self‑motivation, initiative and flexibility
  • Knowledge of and able to use a variety of tools
  • Some experience with an order tracking system
  • Knowledge with Microsoft Office suite
