Job summary

A public housing organization in Vancouver seeks a Property Portfolio Assistant to support Portfolio Managers with all related tasks, including managing tenant records and documentation. Overview

PROPERTY PORTFOLIO ASSISTANT

Responsibilities
  • Support Portfolio Managers (PPMs) with all associated programs and services, including rent calculations, annual reviews, and the scheduling and maintenance processes of housing stock and related services.
  • Assist with the initial setup of tenant records with accurately documented rents, subsidies, services, and ongoing maintenance of files using established protocols and BC Housing systems and databases.
  • Analyze and interpret tenant and housing records to ensure accuracy and initiate corrective action when necessary.
  • Maintain and organize confidential documentation and handle sensitive situations and difficult conversations.
  • Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and frequently changing environment; exercise good judgement and take initiative as needed.
  • Interpret financial documents received from tenants accurately.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • High school graduation plus completion of post-secondary courses in business or program administration or related fields.
  • Considerable related progressive experience in a comparable environment.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the Employer.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of business and program administration rules, practices and procedures.
  • Proficiency with office systems and computer applications including MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Good keyboarding skills (minimum 50 wpm).
  • Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage files and handle confidential documentation; handle sensitive situations and conversations.
  • Ability to work efficiently, independently and in a team; adapt to a fast-paced environment; and investigate and solve problems creatively within regulations.
  • Ability to take initiative and work with limited supervision; highly organized with multiple responsibilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret financial documents from tenants accurately and exercise good judgement.
  • Criminal Record Check required.
Compensation

$53,757.49 – $60,889.00 Annually
