The Real Property Team at Burchell Wickwire Bryson LLP is looking for their newest team member.

BWB is currently recruiting for a Property Paralegal to join the firm on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a predominantly in-office role, based in BWB’s new office space at 1801 Hollis Street in Halifax, NS.

The Opportunity:

An integral part of BWB’s Real Property Team, our Property Paralegals assist the firm’s lawyers by providing paralegal support on property transactions from start to finish.

In particular, the successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:

– Completing full cycle real estate transactions while corresponding with various parties (clients, lenders, opposing solicitors, real estate agents, etc.) throughout the process;
– Reviewing and preparing documentation relating to purchases, sales, financing transactions, and other relevant real estate matters;
– Preparing Final Reports to lenders and clients;
– Preparing documents and forms for submission to the Land Registration Office;
– Assisting with property migrations, subdivision applications, drafting legal descriptions and performing basic title searches;
– Maintaining an accurate record of billable time;
– Tracking deadlines, closing dates, and other important timelines;
– Conducting accounting-related processes such as depositing funds and requesting trust cheques; and,
– Various other administrative tasks.

The Ideal Candidate:

If you are a motivated and organized administrative professional with a keen eye for detail, an aptitude for technology and experience providing top level client service, we want to hear from you!

Experience supporting a real estate legal practice, post-secondary education in paralegal studies or office administration, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite are considered an asset.
