Job summary

A community support organization in Ontario is seeking a Property Maintenance Worker to oversee maintenance and repairs across residential sites. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, relevant certifications, and at least 3 years of experience in the maintenance field. POSITION POSTING: Kerry’s Place East Region – York / Simcoe / Durham. SERVICE AREA: Supported Living. LOCATION: Kerry’s Place East Region – York / Simcoe / Durham. VACANCY TYPE: Existing Vacancy. AGE GROUP SUPPORTED: Adults over 18 years old. POSITION STATUS: Permanent Full-Time. HOURS OF WORK: 37.5 hours per week (Days / Evening / Weekends; Flexibility required). HOURLY PAY RATE: $23.64 - $29.56 per hour. UNION AFFILIATION: Non-Union. CLOSING DATE: November 18, 2025, 4:30pm. THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO: Internal and External Applicants. About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Services and Supports, the Property Maintenance Worker is responsible for all required maintenance and repairs carried out for all of the residential sites in a timely basis. Responsibilities may include:

  • Through actions, supports the Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan of Kerry’s Place.
  • Complies with the Building Code, Fire Code and the Occupational Health & Safety Act and inspects all fire and other safety equipment on a regular basis.
  • Performs general and specialized maintenance and repairs to residential sites under the direction of the Director of Services and Supports.
  • Provides maintenance, installation and repair services for appliances, routine plumbing, carpentry, painting and basic electrical work.
  • Ensures all areas are free of hazards and, where not able to resolve, informs the Director of Services and Supports or Managers for immediate resolution.
  • Responds to after-hours emergencies when on call.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education Qualifications
  • Completion of High School or general education degree (GED)
  • Certification / License from one of the trade professions would be a definite asset
Knowledge and Experience Requirements
  • 3 years of experience in a multi-residential or other related industry
  • Experience with plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpentry, painting, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to accurately listen, understand and respond to issues appropriately
  • Superior organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task / prioritize and work under tight timelines
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Sound listening and judgement skills
  • Ability to work and act independently using good judgement when accessing difficult situations
  • A demonstrated high degree of integrity, diplomacy, discretion and confidentiality
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
  • Must have the ability to complete the Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification, First Aid / CPR as well as perform the required physical techniques. Training will be provided at no cost
  • A valid Driver’s License, with a minimum G2 and access to a reliable vehicle is required
