Job Description

The Performance Manager plays a critical role in driving operational excellence within the National Property claims discipline by analyzing performance metrics and uncovering actionable insights. This role partners closely with Claims Intelligence to develop and refine reporting tools, while also collaborating with cross-functional teams to inform strategic decisions. The Performance Manager is responsible for crafting and communicating a comprehensive claims performance narrative for internal and external stakeholders, investigating root causes of business challenges, and monitoring workforce management plans to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Accountabilities
  • Understanding discipline & operational performance

  • Partner closely with Claims Intelligence on creating new reporting (e.g. providing requirements)

  • Understand, and monitor key performance metrics, and identify insights (i.e. opportunities & strengths)

  • Develop, update & communicate holistic discipline claims story for stakeholders internal and external to claims

  • Work closely with key partners in finance, product, pricing and analytics to provide claims insights as inputs to business decisions

  • Investigate, and identify root causes to claims business problems that arise

  • Monitor workforce management plan for discipline

Qualifications
  • 5 or more years of experience in insurance claims and business analytics

  • Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Excel)

  • Ability to interpret complex data and translate to actionable insights

  • Excellent communication skills to develop and present performance narratives to stakeholders

  • Experience in workforce planning and performance monitoring

Bonus qualifications
  • Experience with Guidewire and Xactimate

  • Process improvement certification

  • Experience managing or analyzing claims across multiple provinces, with knowledge of jurisdictional nuances and compliance requirements.
