Role Description

We are looking for a Property & Casualty Commercial Specialty Programs Manager to help manage the firm's growth in our wholly-owned insurance entities (managing general agent and / or insurance wholesaler).

This is a six to twelve month contract (extendable or convertible into a full time role)

Key responsibilities :
  • Runs day-to-day operations of assigned specialty programs
  • Coordinates underwriting, pricing, and loss control activities
  • Develops new programs and improves existing insurance programs
  • Implements program guidelines and ensures compliance
  • Supports broker relationships and distribution strategy
  • Supports carrier & reinsurance relationships and capital formation
  • Monitors performance metrics and prepares reports
  • Drives the business forward
  • Support and lead special projects as needed
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree + 5-10+ years of relevant professional experience at either (i) an insurance company, reinsurance company, brokerage, actuarial firm or (ii) a specialty financial services firm, law firm, accounting firm or similar with a focus on the insurance industry
  • Nice to have, but not required : experience operating in a professional context in both Canada and the United States
