Job summary

A leading real estate firm is seeking a Property Accountant for a 12-month engagement. This hybrid role near Victoria Park Ave & Sheppard Ave requires in-office work at least four days a week. The successful candidate will support the Corporate Accounting Department by engaging in various accounting cycles, preparing financial reports, and overseeing property accounting. Ideal candidates will have a university degree in Accounting, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience in real estate and external audits is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in the real estate industry is an asset.
• External audit experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing worksheets and templates for corporate processes.
• Assist in setting up key financial reports.
• Prepare standard corporate journal entries.
• Oversee full-cycle accounting of properties.
• Identify non-standard transactions and consult immediate supervisor for proper accounting treatment.
• Analyze financial data according to task or project objectives.

Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Knowledge of basic accounting functions

Education

University degree in Accounting

Canadian or international accounting designation
