Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Canada is seeking a skilled survey team leader. The successful candidate will manage in-house survey operations and ensure precision in marine construction projects. Applicants should have a diploma in Land Surveying or a related field, with 2-3 years of relevant experience. Qualifications

  • Preferably 2 to 3 years’ surveying experience in Reclamation, Marine Construction and Civil Engineering works.
  • Able to understand the process of marine construction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage in-house survey team.
  • Prepare survey method statement for consultant and client.
  • Perform levelling, traversing, and setting-out points.
  • Manage marine piling and concrete precast vertical walls installation.
  • Prepare setting out drawings and work out setting out coordinates.
  • Manage survey work schedule and distribute jobs accordingly.
  • Maintain survey instruments and records.
  • Ensure good condition of surveying equipment with regular calibration.
  • Understand Singapore Plane Coordinate System.
  • Collect settlement monitoring data for submission.
  • Liaise with Registered Surveyors for survey-related tasks.
  • Collaborate with management and operation team.

Job Responsibilities
  • Able to lead and manage in house survey team.
  • Prepare the survey method of statement to submit the consultant and client.
  • Perform levelling, traversing, setting‑out points, survey data collecting, topographic surveying and boundary surveys as and when necessary.
  • Managing the marine piling and concrete precast vertical walls installation in marine construction.
  • Understand and read the engineering drawings, prepare the setting out drawing and work out the setting out coordinates.
  • Manage the survey work schedule and distribute the jobs to in‑house surveyor according to engineering drawing to be utilized by construction project team.
  • Manage and maintain survey instruments, survey data and records for reporting.
  • Maintain surveying equipment in good condition and arrange for regular calibration of surveying equipment.
  • Understand the Singapore Plane Coordinate System and coordinates transformation.
  • Understand the Singapore Height Datum and Datum transformation.
  • Collect the settlement monitoring data and prepare for submission.
  • Liaise with Registered Surveyors for pre‑computation plan drawing, progress survey, marine surveys and as‑built survey.
  • Positively work with management and operation team.
Job Requirements
  • Diploma in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Building, Civil Engineering or equivalent recognized by SISV.
  • Preferably 2 to 3 years’ surveying experience in Reclamation, Marine Construction and Civil Engineering works.
  • Fast learning and understand the process of marine construction.
  • Leadership and coordination skill.
  • Competent in Microsoft Excel, Words and AutoCad add advantage.
