Job summary

Plan Group is seeking a Project Manager to lead the delivery of sophisticated construction and technology projects in Ottawa. You will own projects from award through closeout, coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure success.

The role emphasizes risk management, on-time and on-budget delivery, safety, and clear communication. A university degree in Engineering and scheduling tool experience (MS Project/Primavera) are preferred; PMP is an asset.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Project Management experience within the construction industry, with a strong understanding of construction practices, processes, and project delivery.
• Experience with information technology, structured cabling, or building systems is considered an asset.
• Relevant post-secondary education, with a university degree in Engineering preferred.
• Knowledge of Accubid or previous estimating experience is an asset.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with scheduling platforms such as Microsoft Project or Primavera is preferred.
• A PMP designation, or progress toward completing one, is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from award through completion, managing schedules, budgets, change orders, documentation, as-built drawings, and project closeout.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to keep projects moving forward on time, on budget, and aligned with design requirements.
• Proactively identify, assess, and manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Partner with the management team to evaluate project feasibility, costs, budgets, and execution strategies.
• Build strong relationships with clients and project partners, bringing forward practical and innovative solutions to project challenges.
• Lead and coordinate project resources, including employees, subcontractors, and other project partners.
• Keep stakeholders informed through clear communication of project progress, site activities, technical requirements, risks, and priorities.
• Work closely with consulting engineers to review designs and provide recommendations that support successful implementation.
• Champion a safety-first approach, ensuring client requirements and Plan Group safety standards are consistently followed.
• Contribute expertise to RFQs, RFPs, technical proposals, and tender submissions in pursuit of major transportation projects.
• Monitor project performance, report on progress, and escalate critical issues when needed.
