The University of Toronto’s Department of Civil & Mineral Engineering offers a dynamic compendium of research and academic programs with a mandate that spans a wide range of applications in professional practice, encompassing the built environment and its infrastructure, transportation engineering and planning, structural engineering, environmental engineering, mining and geomechanics. Our department seeks to uphold and strengthen its position as a preeminent leader in education and research, and to continue to develop sustainable solutions for the global community across the spectrum from mineral engineering to urban infrastructure.
The project manager will play a central role in coordinating a diverse array of research projects spanning the research groups of Professors Heather MacLean, Daniel Posen and Shoshanna Saxe. The projects span the domains of infrastructure, energy and transportation systems with a focus on climate change and other environmental implications. You will engage with both project personnel (students and faculty across multiple institutions), research service officers, and external stakeholders (industry and government representatives) to: facilitate regular project updates and communication; maintain project timelines and dissemination of deliverables; manage project finances; ensure timely administrative reporting; organize events; and seek out opportunities for additional resources. We are looking for someone highly organized and assertive with strong communication skills and attention to detail. We offer a friendly and highly collaborative environment, where the project manager will be treated as a member of the team and encouraged to take an independent lead in managing priorities and making suggestions to improve overall project procedures.
Note: This is a 1 year term position at 50% FTE ending November 2027
