About the Role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary Full‑Time Project Manager to join our dynamic Process Management team supporting collections.
The Process Management team manages process ownership and enhancements for operations functions. In this role you will:
- Plan, manage, design, develop and implement projects supporting the whole blood collections process management change agenda.
- Coordinate, lead, and manage activities of all stakeholders to achieve project objectives within cost and time parameters.
- Manage two or more large projects simultaneously.
- Oversee project execution, including proposal/business case development, risk mitigation, resource allocation, and benefit realization.
- Recruit and lead project team members while fostering stakeholder engagement and inter‑team collaboration.
- Monitor and document overall project plan and budget, ensuring timely delivery and expectations alignment.
- Coordinate activities of the steering committee and partners to develop plans, define deliverables, establish timelines, communications, risk management, cost, transition and close‑out procedures.
- Make decisions that impact project deliverables, costs, and timelines, influencing associated business areas.
- Identify, monitor, and mitigate substantial risks with broader implications.
Desired Education & Skills
- Post‑secondary (preferably university) education in a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of related experience.
- Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) is an asset.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development in program or project management and leadership.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project Professional (MSPO) or similar tools.
- General management experience with budget and personnel accountability.
- Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret business needs, and develop integrated solutions.
- Ability to create a cross‑functional team environment promoting high performance.
- Ability to handle senior‑level stakeholders on highly complex or sensitive issues.
