Job summary

A & A Consultants seeks a Project Director to lead planning, execution, and delivery of major mining projects from design to commissioning in Montreal. You will serve as the central liaison between engineering and construction teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners to ensure timelines, budgets, and safety are met.

The role requires a strong background in civil or mining engineering, at least a decade of PM experience in mining, and proven leadership to drive large multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• The candidate holds a degree in civil or mining engineering.
• At least 10 years of project management experience, ideally in mining.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale projects (budget, schedule, multidisciplinary teams).
• Strong knowledge of mining sector standards (Directive 19, etc.).
• Demonstrated leadership, organization, and communication skills.
• Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) is an asset.
• Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset depending on project needs.

Our client, a recognized company in the mining sector, is looking for a Project Director to lead the planning, execution and delivery of large-scale mining projects, from the design phase to commissioning. You will act as a central point of contact between engineering and construction teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and the highest quality and safety standards.

Main Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee all phases of a mining project (design, procurement, construction, commissioning)
• Manage budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and to agreed specifications
• Liaise with civil and mining engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards
• Produce clear progress reports for management and stakeholders stakeholders
• Lead and motivate multidisciplinary project teams

Desired Profile

• Degree in civil or mining engineering
